JPro is a powerful diagnostic tool that offers a range of features beyond fault reading (unless you're using the bootleg version)
As a rugged laptop reseller, we are often asked about diagnostics and repair software, especially for diesel engines and heavy machinery. So we have decided to look into partnering with a good and reliable diagnostic software provider that wouldn't charge arm and leg for their software, while offering a state of the art, up-to-date and easy to use software that mechanics can actually use. Another important factor in our screening process was the level of customer support (sales, demonstration, training and after-sale support).
In our quest we came across dozens of promising diagnostic software and we have tested a few. But only one stood out, one that we didn't pay much attention to and have left to the very end of the process; Noregon's JPro suite.
JPro didn't have much presence on search engines such as Google and Bing and other "top ## diagnostics software" websites. As a matter of fact, we were ready to skip JPro, judging the book by its cover. Until we spoke to one of their reps in an effort to document the software for the final rundown. We quickly realized that JPro didn't have much presence on search engines and advertising media simply because, it didn't need any advertisement.
No matter how we looked at it, JPro was the winner in all areas:
- Coverage: Diagnosing pretty much every make and model
- Reporting: Dozens of easy to read comprehensive reports
- Accuracy
- Cost
- Customer support
- Repair guidance
- Speed
- Ease of use
to name a few..
Here's why we fell in love with JPro at first sight
In our quest, we came across this honest review by a successful truck repair business owner who was so impressed with JPro that he have decided to go ahead and make a video about it. Here's what Francisco Amaya had to say about JPro
And here's what the manufacturer had to say..
JPro offers a comprehensive solution for diagnosing and repairing heavy machinery and diesel engines
Its user-friendly interface and extensive features make it an invaluable tool for technicians of all skill levels. With JPro, a junior mechanic can quickly become proficient in identifying and resolving complex issues, thanks to its intuitive design and comprehensive support materials.
One of the standout features of JPro is its ability to integrate seamlessly with NextStep Repair Guides and Technician as a Service (TaaS). This integration allows technicians to access real-time repair information, step-by-step guidance, and remote support, significantly reducing downtime and improving efficiency.
JPro's diagnostic capabilities go beyond mere fault reading. It provides a holistic view of the vehicle's health, enabling technicians to identify potential issues and prioritize repairs. The software's bidirectional control feature allows technicians to test and verify repairs without the need for additional tools, while its data logging capabilities provide valuable insights into the vehicle's performance.
What about the cost?
JPro offers a comprehensive diagnostic solution at a relatively affordable price compared to other similar tools in the market. The initial cost of $2,900 USD for the first year, followed by a renewal fee of $1,699 USD per year, makes it a cost-effective option for technicians and fleet managers looking to streamline their vehicle maintenance and repair processes. This pricing model allows users to access the latest updates and features without having to make a large upfront investment.
Furthermore, we have scored a good deal with the makers of JPro. Check out some of our JPro specials:

Our conclusion
JPro is a powerful diagnostic & repair tool that offers a range of features beyond fault reading. Its integration with NextStep repair and TaaS makes it an invaluable resource for technicians, enabling them to quickly diagnose and resolve issues with heavy machinery and diesel engines. While it may not have the same level of recognition as some of its competitors, JPro's capabilities and reliability make it a strong contender in the diagnostic software market.
However, it's worth noting that there are bootleg versions of JPro available, which may not offer the same level of functionality and reliability as the official software. These bootleg versions may be limited in terms of features, updates, and support, and may not provide the same level of accuracy and performance as the official JPro software.
